limbo-bo bye byeAlarming news this morning out of Rome. Apparently, the Vatican is considering shelving the concept of "Limbo" (which is, as you know, the place where unfortunate but sinless souls -- like those of babies and the developmentally disabled -- go when they die).
While I applaud the audacity, for novelty's sake, of attempting to revise the architecture of the Roman Catholic conception of the afterlife, I hope that the theologians concerned do carefully think out the ramifications (and not just to Dante).
For me, the most glaring question would be the fate of all those sinless baby souls already conscribed to Limbo. Will these souls get reimbursed for moving expenses? And shouldn't somebody apologize for sticking them someplace for a couple hundred years that, come to find out, doesn't exist?
Maybe instead of cutting Limbo entirely, they could just sell the naming rights to FedEx or SafeCo or something. Might be a lot less trouble.

isn't it "ironic"?The Yahoo! Symmetrical Headline Aggregator makes with the air-quotes:
• Man to crawl for 55 miles in search of 'love'
You know, 'love', as in, 'fuckee'.
Waitaminnit! Those aren't air-quotes -- those are quote-quotes. My bad.

merry christmasYeah, I been away from the posting.
Can't really say why.
Just let me say, "You know, it's not an accident that we haven't been hit in four years."
